So before I can write any code, I need a place to host my repos. While I can host my code on GitHub or GitLab, what better first project than to self-host all the repositories that I will be building. While the goal of the home lab is to make things myself, I don't think I am interested in building a git platform from scratch. I want to choose a git platform for my needs. So far I've heard about Gitea & self-hosted gitlab. From what I can read online, gitlab seems to have a lot of overhead and a more comprehensive set of features for entreprise-level builds but since I'm doing this by myself I don't need all that. Gitea seems to take very limited resources which is my main constrain here. So let's give Gitea a chance!
